FAQs – Make the most of your Framlingham Stay
Saturday is the main market day in Framlingham. There is also a smaller market on Tuesday mornings.
Framlingham Library as well as some of Fram’s shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and the supermarket stock copies of local leaflets for places to visit /events.
Printed copies of the free Framlingham Town Trail and where available, the free Pocket Guide to Framlingham (maps and info) are available from the Framlingham Town Council Offices. Both are downloadable from this website.
Aldeburgh or Sizewell (near Leiston) are the closest beaches to Framlingham. Like the beaches at Dunwich and Felixstowe they are shingle beaches.
Southwold is the closest sandy beach. Lowestoft with its extensive sandy beaches is a traditional family favourite resort in East Suffolk.
The nearest public swimming pool is at the Deben Leisure Centre in Woodbridge (12 miles) or the leisure centre in Leiston (13 miles).
The hotel pool and spa suite at Ufford Park Golf Hotel & Spa (9 miles) is open to non residents. The pool has sessions welcoming children, as well as adult only swimming times.
In Framlingham, the pool and gym facilities at Framlingham College operate a Framlingham Leisure membership scheme to support local residents.

Nearest multiplex cinema is in Ipswich – 18 miles.
Scheduled bus services from the main Framlingham bus stop near Riverside go south to Woodbridge and Ipswich.
The demand responsive Katch bus has set pick up / drop off points around Framlingham and links the town with outlying villages, Wickham Market Station at Campsea Ashe and Snape Maltings.
You’ll find the public toilets in Framlingham in Crown and Anchor Lane, IP13 9BL, accessible on foot from Church Street, or from Fore Street. They are only a short walk from Market Hill.
There are a number of public car parks in the centre of Framlingham, including parking on Market Hill (restricted on Market Days – Tuesdays and Saturdays).
There are also large customer car parks at Framlingham Castle, and the Co-Op supermarket off Riverside.
