Unitarian Meeting House (1717)

This fine, early example of a brick ‘preaching box’ (restored 2013) was created for religious worship. From the 1660s, Framlingham was home to progressive free-thinkers who disagreed with the established church. In the simple, bright and open interior, these Protestant Dissenters had the freedom to practise their faith together in their own way.
