Pageant Field & Play Area

Step through the impressive gates to discover two well-equipped play areas, with something for children of all ages to enjoy, as well as a pavilion, popular skatepark, basketball and boules (pétanque) facilities, adult outdoor gym equipment and a five-a-side football pitch.

Pageant Field takes its name from a magnificent 4-day historical pageant held in 1931 which raised the funds to purchase the land for community use (1933). Play equipment was subsequently added and trees put in around the perimeter. Oaks were also planted to commemorate national events such as the coronations and jubilees of reigning monarchs; a tradition carried out to this day. The open space is also often home to popular community events.

Play areas are fully fenced.
