Framlingham College (1864)

There is no public access to Framlingham College – please view from Pig’s Meadow.

Queen Victoria’s husband, Albert, stands proudly in front of this impressive, hilltop, ‘Hogwarts’-style mock-gothic wonder. The school was founded by public subscription as Suffolk’s county memorial to the Prince Consort who died in 1861. The independent boarding/ day school is officially known today as the Prince Albert Memorial College and hosts the prestigious Framlingham Lawn Tennis Tournament which has served up several Wimbledon finalists in its time.
