Fen Meadow

Visit Framlingham Trail

Fen Meadow

Also known as ‘The Fens’, this wonderful green space was bequeathed to the people of Framlingham by former magistrate, A.K Cooper (1902-1996) ‘for walking, relaxation and contemplation’. Its name however does not betray its history – but adjacent Fairfield Road certainly does. Annual Whitsun and Michelmas fairs (livestock sales/ horse fairs) were traditionally held here. Framlingham Horse Show on Castle Meadow has been in the town’s calendar since 1884.

Fairfield Road leads past 17th century Fairfield House (Grade II* listed) towards town and more horsey connections…
