Double Street

Visit Framlingham Trail

Double Street

From Regency bow windows to ‘Bow Street’ – its original name until buildings appeared on both sides and folk thought they were seeing double! The ‘even’ side probably came first. Houses date mainly from the 1500s to early 1700s.The few later additions include No.5,  a film location for TV series The Detectorists. Spot the 19th century shopfronts – this was once Framlingham’s main shopping street!
