Ancient House (c. 1600s)

This much re-modelled and curious timber-framed house with beautiful ornamental plasterwork is now surrounded by town buildings, but it was in the countryside when it was built in the 1600s! Victorian owners incorporated a shop window/door (left). These days its integrity is protected by a Grade II* listing!
