Explore a Castle Like No Other

Once upon a time, perhaps as early as the 6th century, there was a castle on a Suffolk hill… But today’s curtain-walled castle with its wall-top walk and stunning panoramic views was over 800 years old before local-lad Ed Sheeran sky-rocketed it to stardom in his triple-platinum hit single!

Family-friendly Framlingham Castle and its magical Mere nature reserve are simply awesome for so many reasons – so too St Michael’s Church, Market Hill and all the heritage town too, of course!

Enjoy a Creative & Supportive Community

Regularly named amongst the best places to live in Britain, Framlingham is so much more than just its bricks (flint, stone, wattle-and-daub) and mortar.

Designers, painters, makers, musicians and all sorts of artisans thrive here. You’ll find their creations on show, and on sale in the shops, markets and pop-galleries around the town.

There’s also a real, overall sense of community in this  truly much-loved country town. It’s an inspiring, colourful and caring sort of place and that really shows wherever your footsteps take you.

Get a Taste for the Deliciously Local

From fresh market produce to brilliant café bakes, friendly fine dining and great pub grub, Framlingham is a scrummy sort of proposition.
